Bill Legge

Bill, on right, Col and George cuddle up between takes

Pete has been good mates with Bill for something approaching 25 years. During that time they have found themselves at parties which often became a bit boozy, and, late at night, some shifty characters would drag out a guitar, a kazoo and something to bang. If lubricated sufficiently, Bill would break into a song or two, as often as not songs that reflected Bill’s time spent in Papua New Guinea – lovely lilting South Pacific tunes.

Pete has always reckoned Bill has a fine voice, and has pestered the shy, reticent Bill for years............”Come on down to The Shed. We’ll have a laugh, a couple of beers, and who knows, we might just manage a recording or two”.

Well in October 2013 it finally happened. With some great backing from his  mates Colin Enright, Kevin Abbey and Pete, and with  very welcome assistance from Kevin Breeze and Raymond Toms, Bill stepped up to the microphone and sang The Shed version of Sonny Boy Williamson’s classic blues “Don’t Start Me Talking”.

Welcome to the PBGB Family Bill. About time, but better late than never ay ??
